Comprehensive Oral Exams & New Patient Exams
In order to effectively assess and treat our patients, comprehensive oral exams must be performed. This is a procedure meant to catch issues before they worsen and prevent conditions from affecting your health in the future. You can expect to receive an oral exam at your regular dental hygiene and cleaning appointments.
Our oral exams include a full assessment of your teeth, gums, neck, and face for signs of cancer, gum disease, decay, or other health conditions. If you have previous restorations such as bridges or crowns, we will also examine those to ensure they are in proper working condition.
At your first visit to our practice, you will receive a comprehensive new patient exam. This is similar to an oral exam, but it includes a few extra steps to fully assess your oral health. New patient exams involve a close-up examination of your teeth and gums, your bite, and your overall health.
